Local and International Expertise:

A long-time resident of the San Gabriel Valley for the last 25 years, Monica Hsu lives in Pasadena with her husband two adult children.

Having raised two daughters in private schools , I am very knowledgeable about the educational variables, so important to families looking to move to the communities of Arcadia, Pasadena, La Canada, San Marino, San Gabriel and South Pasadena, as well as the adjacent cities in the San Gabriel Valley. In addition to my familiarity with the best private and public school systems, I take into account any other interests or needs your family members may have for work, business, or personal interests. In doing so, I can focus on those communities that will best serve your needs.

Bilingual in Mandarin:

Born in Taiwan and educated in the U.S., I am fully familiar with Asian culture which helps when guiding my clients through the many complex aspects of real estate transactions. Bilingual in Mandarin, I provide the same high-level communications and expertise to my Mandarin-speaking Chinese clients, as native English-speaking clients. For those who frequently travel or are living abroad, I am able to represent your property in your absence right through to closing. This comes from many years of handling international transactions for high-level corporate clients in China.

Knowing How to Make Properties Sell at a Higher Value:

Being able to recognize and accentuate the natural aspects of a property to present it at a higher value is one of my specialties. It comes from years of working with experts who specialize in staging, landscaping, and other home improvement skills. After presenting the property with the most ideal staging, I then identify a pool of prospective buyers and devise a marketing strategy to fit the needs of these buyers.

For those selling a property, I provide simple ideas and concepts on any improvements that could bring more value to your property and identify staging options to maximize both the interior space and design, and then provide inexpensive landscaping options to create more curb appeal for the exterior of your home.

By taking the time to get to know the needs and wants of my buyers/sellers, I am able to use a very target, successful approach with their needs and tastes in mind. Since joining Podley Properties in 2010 as an independent residential and commercial real estate broker, I’ve been a Top Producer, every year, since 2012:

  • In 2018, I sold homes with total production of $35 million.
  • In 2017, I sold  homes with total production averaging $30 million.
  • Largest closing: a $12 million commercial building in Pomona, CA, setting a new top closing in the company’s history.

In 2018, I closed a $6.5 million transaction setting a new top record for the Pasadena office
